Homework: Week 3 - Blogging Your Way

I have been taking a great on-line course, Blogging Your Way, hosted by Holly of Decor8.  We were given a homework assignment to post something on our blog.  What I chose is to write a review of a book.  Although I intend my blog to be mainly on stamped cards, the book I chose is  The Pioneer Woman Cooks.  If you read blogs, you have probably come across Ree Drummond's blog, The Pioneer Woman.com.
The Pioneer Woman Cooks is not only a great cookbook, but it is also a good read.  Ree Drummond, the author, shares her life story.  Her story of how she was a city girl and left her city life plans for her "marlboro man" is an interesting one.  She shares about her life on the farm, her family, dogs, horses, cows, etc.  There are many wonderful pictures, not only of food, but also of her farm life.
The pioneer woman adds "spunk" to well known recipes and makes them her own.  I am looking forward to trying some of  her recipes.  I am sure my family will enjoy them.  All of her recipes sound and visually look mouthwatering delicious.  I usually don't read cookbooks from beginning to end; however, this is the exception.  I give it 5 stars/ two thumbs up/blue ribbon award, etc.

Best Friends

I am sure by now, if you are a stamper, you have seen stamps by the Unity Stamp Company.  They have the cutest stamps.  Most of them are kits, but now they sell some individually.  The name of this stamp is "Best Friends".  It is not too visible, but the lady's head and shirt reads "Best Friends are the siblings God forgot to give us".  How true!  I used a Tim Holtz background stamp.  Ink:  Memories Dye; Paper:  Stampin'Up; Ribbon:  local scrapbook store; Pearls:  Queen and Co.

Hello

I have always loved "inchies" cards.  This is the first one I made using Inkadinkado stamps.  The two sets I used are "Flower Garden" and "Spring Garden".  Border is by Stampabilities and "Hello", by Stampin'Up.  I used Memories Dye Ink and Stampin'Up paper.  Sorry it's a little crooked.  It's amazing how pictures really do show everything.  I need to find my Stamp-a-ma-gig to help me stamp straighter.  Actually, I had a hard time with the corduroy ribbon.  It just would not lay straight.   I bought the ribbon at my favorite store, Archivers.

Welcome

Hello, this is my official first post wherein I post some of my paper creations.  This is a banner I made with my Silhouette machine.  I had made it for my daughter's return to college.  She wanted something to put in her apartment (however, it is still at home)!
